Parts of a Refrigerator

You won’t find too many houses that don’t have a refrigerator inside the kitchen. It has been a must-own household appliance for many years now. A household refrigerator stores food at the best temperature, in order to reduce spoilage and stop the growth of harmful bacteria. The cycle of refrigeration works by transferring the heat from inside of the refrigerator to the exterior, by using principles of evaporation and condensation.

The main parts of a refrigerator are below. For questions or service call Storm Appliance Repair:

The compressor is both a motor and pump, and it’s responsible for circulation of refrigerant in the cooling system.
The compressor is a very important piece of a refrigerator. You should hire a professional company if the compressor is broken.

A condenser is attached on the rear outside wall of the refrigerator and is there to disperse the heat collected inside the refrigerator then out to the surrounding air.

A evaporator is located on the inside of a refrigerator where absorbs the heat held inside of it, thereby lowering the temperature inside the appliance.

Right when the evaporator is not working, it’s time to find a professional. You should not wait until it is too late.

Expansion Device

Liquid refrigerant is carried through a capillary tube that acts as an expansion tool as it cools the gas inside, thereby turning the gas into a liquid.

The thermostat helps regulate the current temperature within a refrigerator, engaging a new cooling period when needed.

A thermostat inside of a refrigerator is often prone to malfunction. Troubleshoot and hire a technician in CITY for service right after an issue happens.

How Does Refrigeration Work?

1. Once the temperature inside the refrigerator rises higher than the set point sensors signal the refrigerator compressor to start, and the next cool down begins. The unit attracts the cold liquid refrigerant, condenses and pressurizes it, and raises the temperature, in order to turn it into a gas.

2. The refrigerator compressor unit guides the hot gas in the direction of the condenser coils on the outside of the unit, at which point it comes in contact with the lower temperature in the home and transforms to a liquified state.

3. The cool liquid then continues on its journey to the refrigerator evaporator component, finding its way through the coils within the refrigerator and top freezer compartment.

4. The coolant absorbs the warm air from the interior of the appliance, reducing the temperature until it has reached the best set point.

5. The coolant then evaporates, and turns back into a gas, and returns to the compressor in order to continue the cycle.

Refrigeration technology is used in quite a few applications and large appliances, this includes heat pumps, air conditioners, refrigerators and residential freezers. By removing warmth from a single area and then distributing it to elsewhere the cycle of refrigeration contributes in cooling a home, provides a safe storage space for food that is perishable, and helps with manufacturing and storage of many different common products and goods.
